My position on architecture has been inspired by the human scale space making of Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as the integration of his buildings into the landscape.  The Arts and Crafts style by Greene & Greene provided inspiration with their aesthetic expression of the joint and the structure.  Bohlin Cywinski Jackson provide more recent inspiration with their aesthetic expression of the joint.  Cross Laminated Timber made from beetle killed pine forests creating a carbon sink structure while promoting responsible forest management.  Cross laminated timber is a potentially sustainable resource which also is expanding limits of wood structures.

Another interest was driven by the exploration of possibilities for future building systems, and creating inventive details to satisfy unique design conditions.  This interest translates into real world problem solving.   Click on individual images for larger views.
